Artist Statement

"My stories often aim to showcase the “other woman” of typical stories—the kind of female-centered characters people do not recognize or choose not to recognize. In addition, I like to explore these topics through interpersonal relationships—especially unconventional ones. The nuance in my stories breaks down audiences' perspectives that may carry little to no sympathy for different kinds of women. While I strive to show this visually through film as my medium, I also want to portray these characters in narrative fiction writing, such as short stories. Overall, my aim for the films/short stories I write is to peel back the various layers that women possess, broadening their characters. More importantly, portraying women with agency in an industry where it is scarce."
